We're Gathering China Travel Information to Promote Solar Cooking There |

I have friends who visit China frequently, and they have asked me if I'd like to go along with them this summer. They are going to promote solar cooking, something that I love to do as well. I have to get a China travel visa in order to go, and I'm hoping that I can get one in time for our planned July trip. The interior and remote parts of China are full of communities that are poor, and the solar ovens that they are promoting are inexpensive alternatives to cooking with other types of fuel like wood, coal or gas.
They are gathering China travel information so we can target the villages that need the solar ovens the most. We are not bringing any actual ovens with us; instead, we are going to buy materials locally and show the villagers how to make their own. Solar ovens are so easy to make, and we want to identify the communities that have the best weather for solar cooking. The China travel information we have found so far is really good, and we're getting lots of help from international agencies that promote solar cooking. |
